As per the v2.11.230 update, WhatsApp has extended the mute timing of groups from the existing choices of 8 hours, 1 day and 1 week up to 1 month, 1 year and 1 century. Those using this updated app can deactivate the notifications of group messages. So far, the users had the ability to receive silent notifications for the muted group messages, but with the new ‘Show Notification’ option, users can disable them completely and would not show them in the notification bar. This new update also adds new camera and voice message icons and on tapping them users can access the handset’s camera directly for click and share capability. This eliminates the need to carry out that weighty process of opening the gallery to attach a snap and send it across to their contacts.
