Build Quality, Design and Form Factor
Gionee Elife e7 may looks like a glossy plastic phone once you look at it but once you hold it in your hand you can feel the great build quality and great form factor of the phone, it has curved back which is glossy finish but its fairly easy to hold this phone in one hand and grip is also fine, however one handed usage of the phone can be limited at times due to slightly bigger display size. Its designed as a one block unibody phone in which battery cannot come which makes it better in the built quality department. E7 has a weight of around 150 grams and thickness of 9.5 mm and both of these things make this device good enough to carry as a phablet around with you in your bag or jeans or trouser pocket. After all one more thing we would like to highlight is that, it has a glossy finish which makes it little bit more slippery at times and finger print friendly as well.
Camera Performance
The rear camera is 16MP shooter with auto focus and tap to focus both supported, we were highly impressed with the camera performance in day light shots, long shots or close up shots all turned out to be quite good in terms of colors and details were really good in close up shots. Low light shots were much better then decent photos we have seen earlier on some other android phones coming in this price segment this device falls. The front camera is 8MP and its auto focus which is something we do not see very often and its really good camera for selfie and group selfie as well, it covered a wide area.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup
It has 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and 441 PPI which makes it display quite crisp ad clear and viewing angles are great as well. The overall color reproduction of the display is good and even when you read a document with large amount of text you will not feel pixilation on the screen. In built memory of the device is 16GB out of which you get around 12 GB user available and on 32 GB version you will get 24 GB approx. as user available and there is no MicroSD card slot of any of the versions so you are stuck with limited storage, but not a deal breaker as you have support for OTG on E7. It has a battery of 2500 mAh which can last upto one day easily with moderate usage but with heavy usage which includes lot of game play and video watching will give you around less than 1 day of backup with battery.
Software, Benchmarks and Gaming
The software UI is something which we don’t like as this one as well runs on AMIGO User interface on top of android. Interface of this phone is slightly different in terms of how its works so it can be confusing for the one using it for the first time but after some time you will get used to it. The UI is response but not that snappy as stock android UI can be on this great hardware phone. In terms of overall day to day usage and performance, this phone will not disappoint you. The gaming experience on this phone is also pretty good as it can play almost any phone with this hardware and GPU config you can play casual, medium and heavy graphic HD games as well with any lag provided you have storage for the same. Sound, Video and Navigation
The sound from loudspeaker is loud and clear and its design placement is also good as it does not blocked when you place it flat on a table, but you might accidently block it at times when you hold it in landscape mode. It can play HD videos at 720p and 1080p videos without any audio and video sync issues, video playback is supported in full screen and touch capacitive buttons also are on the body of the phone not on display so they do not affect the device resolution. GPS navigation worked fine with assisted GPS support and GLONASS and GPS coordinates got locked at first in few seconds in outdoors.

Conclusion and Price
Gionee Elife e7 is available in the market for a price for a price of Rs. 26,999 approx. for 16 GB and Rs. 29,999 for 32 GB and at this price, we can say that it has the best camera you can get in this price point on this phone. It has one of the best hardware specs as well you can get at this price segment compared to other phones, some of the things which disappoint us is limited storage and non removable battery but none of these things are such to be a deal breaker.
